I was born in Singapore – where gastronomy is the main topic on everyone’s mind.
Spoilt for choice, sometimes choosing what you wanted to eat proved really tough indeed!
I trained as a nurse there and worked in the pediatric high dependency unit until I met a film director there (my husband) and started travelling with him in Asia helping him with the make-up and styling.
It was not by choice, but rather circumstance that brought me to Brussels 14 years ago.
The greatest thing I missed besides my family, was the food. It was certainly not as diversed as what was offered back home. I guess that it was really at this point that I started cooking-authentic indian cuisine just like how mum used to.
I was pleasantly suprised to hear that friends always preferred to dine at my house cause the food was so different from the restaurants and they loved it!
Through their different suggestions,I experimented and fused the different cultural cooking ideas.
Friends still can’t seem to get enough of it and come back for more! I am passionate about anything that involves creating- decorating, food, music, art…..I have also had the opportunity to cater for the film crew on several shoots with wonderful results too.
The more I do this, the more I find myself leaning towards the idea that maybe, just maybe someday, by choice and not by circumstance, I might run my own cozy little place that would include all these things that I have come to learn and love in my life.
